Welcome to Ashford Folk!

We are a group of musicians based in and around Ashford, Kent, formed to encourage the playing and enjoyment of Folk music.  We welcome musicians of all abilities (no auditions!) and all instruments – we are currently fiddles, guitars, mandolins, banjo, whistles, pipes and accordion – but would love to hear from you no matter what you play.

We meet at 7pm in the Elwick Club most Thursday evenings and are persuaded to undertake the occasional public performance. Come along to meet us any Thursday.  If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to send us an email. The address for The Elwick Club is Church Road, Ashford, Kent TN23 1RD.

You can also find us on Facebook where we post up-to-date photos and information about Gigs and Sessions.
Look out for our fantastic Workshops run in October each year – make sure you book early to avoid disappointment.

Morris Moves & Folk Grooves

Saturday, 10th October 2026 from 1-3pm

at The Elwick Club, Church Road, Ashford TN23 1RD

Tickets: £7

As part of the Ashford Create Music Village we are hosting a lively folk session where you’ll learn one or two Morris tunes and then try the Morris dances that go with them! The two‑hour session will be led by Clare Hay, a well‑known local ceilidh caller and fiddle player. It’s designed for all abilities — whether you play an instrument, love to dance, or simply enjoy giving something new a go. Young or young at heart, everyone is welcome. It should be an event full of rhythm, tradition, and community spirit!

All dancing equipment will be provided, comfortable shoes are must.  Bring along your instrument so you can join in.

To book please email Ashford Folk for availability.  Places are limited due to the size of the venue and tickets will be given on a first come, first served basis.
